I have no idea how this happened but we are already in the middle of June. It’s a little late, but it’s better late than never so I will announce… drum roll please… Summer Fitness Challenge 2013! Anyone who wishes to join me is welcome to comment. Guest posts about your personal progress / failures are also welcome!
I didn’t make up my mind about my goals yet, except getting super fit. I do have a little weight to lose but I am far from fat. I will keep numbers to myself, but just so that you take an idea. I am also no beginner. I do have high endurance and some serious experience – I was a gym rat in the past.
If you are wondering how in the world I can be a little overweight when I am a gym rat – yes, it’s possible. If you have some time to kill read my ramblings on this subject here.
Soooo… Here is what I have done so far: I opened an account at MapMyWalk, created two walking routes, registered all workouts that I do (which is Body Combat and Ubound, or trampoline), entered my weight and height and made absolutely sure this thing will let everyone on Facebook know when I workout, how long and how many calories I lose.
This last part might not appeal to you, but for me it’s a good way to keep myself accountable so I make sure I don’t back off and stay in bed all day long eating candies (which I often do because I work from home). You might choose to disable it, but to me the whole point of using that site is to keep myself accountable.
I already lost 334 calories today while doing Body Combat and I am going to my evening walk in an hour. While there I will try to make up some goals, some targets to hit so it will be more fun to blog about it.
If you are interested in doing the same head to MapMyWalk now and open yourself an account. Don’t forget to invite all your friends there so you all keep track of each other’s progress and help stay on course. And of course I want your comments! What are your goals? What are you struggling with? Do you have any suggestions? We are all ears!
Update: I decided to walk 100 km (a little more than 62 miles) in one month, before July 9 that is. This is quite a challenge as I will need to walk almost every day and I am already involved in other sports. Anyway, 100 km in 30 days!
