Round face shape is usually quite wide, which is why many stylists suggest taking steps to make it look narrower. I don’t think it’s correct approach. Your beauty begins when you embrace your unique features and aren’t afraid to present yourself to the world. Confidence is attractive; it will beat makeup, hairstyles and even Photoshop. Just look at Mila Kunis!
Having said that, there is nothing wrong with experimenting a bit with different hairstyles and makeup techniques. It’s only natural that some of these hairdos will look better than others, but choosing your style shouldn’t come from the place of fear when you feel you have to hide or correct some of your features, such as your cheeks!
[wp_ad_camp_1]It’s important to mention that sometimes round face can transform to square as you age. As we get older our bone structure becomes more obvious, giving our faces more definition – you might even enjoy this change! Another reason to love your round face is because it’s not prone to sagging. Many of your friends will get nasty lines that run from nose to mouth very soon, some as early as 25, but wide faces aren’t prone to that.
In addition, more angular features can become apparent if you lose a lot of weight when all of a sudden you realize your face is actually square shape. It is also possible to be a hybrid – when you are somewhere between the two. If you aren’t sure about your face shape, read this first.
Makeup Tips for Round Face
Round face is typically wide but short. If you would like to add some length to your face, use bronzing powder or contouring cream to create an illusion of thinner longer face. Bronzing powder (or contouring cream) should be applied on the sides of your forehead and the sides of your face and close to the center of your face. If you apply it only to the sides you will make your face look even wider. Instead, apply darker tones to the sides of your face and slightly lighter shades close to the center of your face. This will happen naturally if you are using a good blending brush. Highlight the center of your forehead, nose bridge and the middle of your chin for more dramatic effect. Make sure to blend everything very well so that transition from light to dark goes smoothly.
If appropriate, use dark eye makeup and darker lip colors to bring forward your best features. Dark makeup draws attention to whatever you want to emphasize and away from whatever you want to tone down.

Eyebrow Shape for Round Face
No one should over pluck their brows or change their natural shape, but if you have a wide round face you should be especially careful. Very thin eyebrows will look out of place, aim for natural looking wider brows.
Hairstyles for Round Face
When it comes to hairstyles round faces are quite similar to square faces and everything that is applicable to square face shape applies to round faces too. Long and semi long, soft and natural, assymetrical, messy updos, and layered hairstyles with the shortest layer at your earlobe will look great on you.
Short Hairstyles for Round Faces
Short hairstyles are generally to be avoided, but if you must have a short hairstyle then choose something asymmetrical. Large earrings will help compensate for the length of your hair.
Earrings for Round Face Shape
Long heavy chandelier earrings will look particularly good on you. Large geometrical shapes are a good choice too.
Celebrities
Here is Olivia Munn with soft and natural waves. Pay attention to her earrings.
Kristin Keuk relies on long natural and messy hair, heavy eye makeup, contouring, long earrings and… some Photoshop. Gorgeous anyway!
Kelly Clarkson with layered hairstyle and long earrings.
Kristin Keuk again: high updos and “big hair” will make your face look longer.
Mila Kunis – messy and asymmetrical.
Besides, Mila Kunis often rocks perfectly straight hair just like in the beginning of this post and looks awesome! She doesn’t really bother to correct her round face and still is found attractive by a mind-blowing number of people. She was voted to be No 1 sexiest woman in the world in 2013 according FHM Men’s Magazine.
