Know the Right Way on How to Dye Your Hair
If you are one of the women, who want to change their present appearance, then you must be looking for the simple guidelines on how to dye your hair. Going to hair salons increases the amount of the money that can be spent that is why it is also advisable to just do hair dyeing all on your own. Even though there is a great chance of failing in accomplishing a wonderfully dyed hair, a woman can at least try to do it all on her own. Hair coloring may seem difficult at times but it is actually simple if women would follow the instructions of proper hair dyeing.
Choosing what suits best
Hair dyeing always begins in selecting the color and the dyeing kit that would be utilized. Remember that when choosing the color, you should pick the one that is almost similar to the natural color of your tresses. Furthermore, it is a big "no-no" to aim for a color that is two times brighter than the normal color of your mane.
You can purchase hair dyeing kits in drugstores and supermarkets and there are a lot of brands that you can choose from. However, you must decide on the type of dye that you want to use on your tresses. If you want a long-lasting color then pick the permanent dye. However, if you do not want to keep a dyed hair for a long time then you may either choose the temporary dye which is easily removed after one wash. There is also the semi-permanent color that can reach a range of six to twelve washes.
Void unwanted reactions
Unnecessary reactions when using hair dyes may be avoided by performing the strand test and the allergy test. Strand test is done in order to check if your hair will develop an odd color after applying the hair dye. This can be carried out a few days before or on the day of hair dye application. The first thing that you should do is to use about one teaspoon of the hair dye on a hair strand and let it stay for a few hours. And, if the color that appears after washing your hair is not fitting then you should just buy another hair dye kit.
Almost all guides on how to dye your hair tells you to do the allergy test with your kit in order to check for sensitivity with the product. This is executed two days before the actual hair dyeing. You should mix in about one teaspoon of the hair dye kit contents then apply it on the inner side of your elbow since this area has been found to be one of the most sensitive body regions. Wash the area after two days and if no allergic reactions were seen then you may start dyeing your hair.
Hair coloring for pregnant women
There are not too many studies conducted in order to know whether it is safe to dye the hair during pregnancy. However, it was found out that large amounts of chemicals that are found in hair dyes can cause harm among unborn fetuses. Hence, you should wait until after the end of the first trimester of pregnancy if you want to change the color of you hair.
This is because the chance of causing teratogenic effects on the baby will be lower. Other ways of preventing harm on the fetus are the following: donning gloves, dyeing hair in a well-ventilated area, washing the hair few minutes after the dye application, applying the hair color on the hair strands only, and using dyes that are made of vegetable like henna.
