- Do you want a diet where you need no discipline AT ALL?
- Do you want a diet plan where are no restrictions?
- Do you want a diet that is easy?
Let’s be honest ladies; we all want a diet that is easy to stick to, simple to follow, and with not too many restrictions so that we can still enjoy all the foods we love. If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, the HCG diet is NOT for you!
What HCG weight loss program is about?
The HCG diet is a plan that requires both drops and a meal plan/food list of allowed foods. We will take a closer look at the drops before we reach the bad news of the diet.
You may have heard of the HCG hormone if you have ever been pregnant. These are hormones that the body produces naturally when a fetus is created. This hormone helps to change the fat stores and other things in the body to nourishment for the placenta, and basically means that the body is in the ultimate health state to encourage healthy growth of the baby.
It has recently come into the health world that these hormones can help to fight the battle of the bulge by converting the fatty deposits in your body to nourishment; in short, it can help to lose weight and obtain a better state of health. This is what the reports say anyway…
The bad news about the HCG diet is that the drops need to be combined with a very low calorie diet; something that can cause very bad side effects that you probably do not want to experience.
There are three phases to the HCG diet, and the first of which lasts for just two days. During these two days, you are allowed to eat as much as you like, of anything that you like; the more fat, the better. During this time, you are building up your fat reserves to allow the HCG drops to later kick in. After this initial two day period, you will then drop down to a calorie content on a daily basis of just 500 calories. When you remember that the average woman takes 2000 calories per day in order to be fit and healthy, (if the recommended amounts are to be believed) this is a serious calorie drop.
Once you have reached your target weight with the above two stages, you head to the final two day phase of this diet. You stop using the drops, and keep on the 500 calorie diet. This should have gotten you to your desired weight.
There are a couple of massive problems with this theory, and although this diet has proved helpful for many women looking to lose weight, the bad effects MUST be taken into account. If you imagine starving your body down to 500 calories, you can surely see what problems you are going to run into – dizziness, cravings, headaches, tiredness or problems sleeping… this list could go on for some time. Also, when you think that after a long period of time on this amount of calories, then up to a normal amount afterwards, you are going to put ALL of that weight right back on. To be fair, when you think of it this way, you are better off not using the diet plan at all.
There are medical professionals that swear by the HCG diet, of course, and for some women, it could be the perfect kick start to the weight loss. However, longer term attempts at this diet could result in a ballooning effect, possibly leaving you ending up with more excess weight than you started with!
We probably can’t tell you which diet to follow; all we can do is advise you, and on that note, there are a few things that you should be advised of before you even consider putting the diet plan on the menu. Firstly, you are basically starving your body of essential fuel. Secondly, once you stop the diet, you are probably going to put even more weight on. Thirdly, there are going to be some pretty negative effects as a result of that diet, basically because you are starving your body. If you have considered all of these things, done your own research and still plan on going ahead – Good Luck!
