Summer is close now, and I hope you are going to be super careful this year and protect your skin from the sun.
According to Skin Cancer Foundation, having even one blistering sunburn in childhood or adolescence more than doubles your risk of getting melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Same thing happens if you have five or more blistering sunburns at any age (official link).
In addition, sun exposure is the number one aging factor. It’s estimated that sun exposure is responsible for as much as 80-90 percent of skin aging. You might not see any visible signs of aging right now, but they will appear ten or twenty years later, making you feel hopeless and stupid. Wrinkles, blisters and leathery skin is what you really get if you aren’t wise about tanning.
Tanning beds aren’t safe either. In fact, according to some sources tanning beds are much more harmful than the sun. If you like the look of tanned skin, self-tanning creams is your only real option. About ten years ago, self-tanning creams would give you uneven orange color, but these days you can get a realistic healthy-looking color without exposing yourself to the dangers of ultraviolet rays. This was just a friendly reminder. I know you’ve heard this before, but it’s just too important and at the risk of annoying you I chose to repeat it once again 🙂
