Only about twenty years ago middle-aged men and women who wanted to change their looks had to undergo severe procedures – surgery or harsh chemical peels. This often left their faces asymmetrical and unnatural-looking. As they grew older they looked often worse than those who have never undergone plastic surgery.
Microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is a gentle treatment that offers you the results of a peel without pain and downtime. A controlled fine mist of microscopic aluminum oxide is employed to remove the outer layer of skin, gradually diminishing fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and any discoloration. It requires no anesthesia and takes no more than 30 minutes. You can combine five to ten microdermabrasion sessions with a mild acid peel (all under medical supervision). More about microdermabrasion here.
Botox.
Botox is an easy and relatively painless way to erase expression lines caused by contracted muscles. It is extremely effective for crow’s-feet, forehead furrows, frown lines, and neck creases. Botox is made from a toxin that relaxes muscles, effectively erasing lines and wrinkles caused by muscle contraction. The wrinkles will disappear naturally after a few days after the treatment. The effect lasts up to 6 month and over time may need to repeat the treatment less often. All details about Botox injections here.
Injectable implants.
This is different from collagen or fat injections. These injectables are either permanent or long-lasting and carry little risk of allergic reaction or rejection. They can be used to fill deep wrinkles and acne scars and include Reviderm, Restylane, Perlane, and Artecoll.
CoolTouch Laser.
The CoolTouch laser combines a powerful laser with a cooling cryogen spray. This protective cooling spray is applied on the skin simultaneously, allowing the laser to pass harmlessly through the upper layers of skin. CoolTouch rejuvenates the skin inside and out, stimulating formation of collagen, making your skin plump and resilient. New collagen continues to be produced for months after the treatment, with gradual ongoing improvement. The results are not visible at first, but they become more dramatic as time passes and last for years.
