8 Lemon Beauty Hacks You Should Know About

After my vinegar experiment I am becoming more and more convinced that natural way of beauty is just as potent as professionally prepared cosmetics. Today I invite you to take a look at something as simple as lemon and what it can do for your looks (a LOT). Considering the fact that most people routinely buy lemons anyway, all these beauty hacks and recipes are practically free.

7 Lemon Beauty Hacks You Should Know About
Controlling your acne

Squeeze a little bit of fresh lemon juice, add a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and apply on affected areas using a cotton ball. It will sting a little but this usually doesn’t last more than one or two minutes. Keep the mixture for 15 minutes and rinse your face.

Whiten your teeth

Mix a few drops of lemon with sodium bicarbonate into a thick paste and brush your teeth with this mixture. Repeat this treatment once a week.

Exfoliating with lemon

To eliminate excess oil and tighten your pores make a paste of salt and lemon juice and use as exfoliator. To give yourself an instant facial lift and tighten your pores even more use my egg and lemon mask. I know this doesn’t sound attractive, but you will be shocked at the results. Promise!

Get rid of freckles and age spots

Okay, may be not 100 percent but you can at least lighten your freckles or age spots by applying freshly squeezed lemon juice on your face every day. This doesn’t work immediately and results will become apparent gradually over time.

Dandruff flakes fix

This will not cure the core problem but will help you control dandruff flakes. Massage lemon juice into your scalp and leave for ten minutes. Use shampoo as usual.

Free hair highlighter

You can actually get naturally looking highlights by applying diluted lemon juice on your hair (1 part of lemon and 1 part of water). If you are after overall lightening effect, spray the mixture evenly on your hair. If you need only highlights, apply it only on hair strands. To seal the deal you will have to sit with this stuff on your hair in the sun for about an hour or two, depending on your natural hair color.

Brighten your fingernails

Soak your nails in freshly squeezed lemon juice for a minute or two.

Lemon Deodorant

You will probably want to use it only in emergency situations when you suddenly realize you don’t smell your best and there is no deodorant around. I know this sounds strange but I am sure most of us will admit that we have been in situation like this before. What you can do is to take a slice of lemon and rub your armpits. Lemon will kill nasty bacteria and you will smell fresh again.
